During programs, participants are allowed to exit and reenter the US with authorized $ev_name. $ev_name refers to the permission granted by the program sponsor for a participant to travel abroad with an unexpired travel signature. If permitted, the sponsor will sign in a box labeled $ev_name on the participant’s Form DS-2019 (lower RHS).

While programs are ongoing, participants are allowed to travel outside the US as long as specific guidelines are adhered to.

• Limited to a maximum of 30 consecutive days
• Have unexpired travel validation signed by the RO/ARO
• Have a passport with a minimum of 6 month validity
• Not applicable during the program extension period
• Obtain/upload Form I-94 (new) after each reentry
• Proper documents are required for CBP screening

NOTE: Failure to apply for travel validation may bar the participant from returning to the States. Each travel signature is valid for 12 months or until the end date on Form DS-2019, whichever is earlier.
