This fee is generally charged to the intern but can be paid by the host. It is non-transferable and non-deferrable and is due within 14 days after program acceptance. This fee is non-refundable unless the (a) intern fails his/her visa interview, (b) is refused admission to the US at a US port of authority, or (c) the program is cancelled (by the intern, host, or FUSIA) for any reason prior to the program start date as stated in Form DS-2019 (of which 50% of the program administration fee shall be refunded). This fee doesn’t include host placement service. There is no refund (for any reason) after the program start date.
What does the program administrative fee cover?
- Screen and select foreign nationals based on the regulations
- Appoint RO and AROs to assist exchange visitors (EVs)
- Sign and issue necessary documents
- Provide guidance and support hosts/EVs to ensure compliance
- Administer BridgeUSA programs
- Monitor host/intern, activities, and progression
- Briefings, evaluations, arrival, periodic check-ins, and after-hour support
- Pre-arrival orientation and distribution of materials
- Process travel validation requests (for out-of-country travel)
- Conflict intervention and emergency support
- Program certificate (upon successful completion)
- Personalized reference letter on a case-by-case basis
- Post-program job/graduate school application reference (upon good performance)

What does the program administrative fee not cover?
- Host placement
- Site visit fee, if required
- SEVIS and other fees charged by the US government
- Changing from one host to another, if permitted by FUSIA
- Administrative processing fee (e.g., form reissuance or significant changes to the program content)
- Out-of-pocket expenses (e.g., health insurance, courier, airfare)
What to note
FUSIA doesn’t charge an application fee for screening and selecting applicants. An applicant may complete an application without making any financial commitments through the point when we issue an official confirmation of acceptance. To confirm participation, the applicant should submit the program fees by the specified period, or the offer will expire if we do not receive the full payment on time.
