Part 1 Overview of Program Costs & Payment Schedule

This page summarizes the charges and payment methods for participation in J-1 Internship by FUSIA. All fees are in USD, effective October 1, 2024.

How to Submit?

Pay Attention
- Use an “international” money transfer and include the EV’s name in the transfer note.
- Remitter covers bank charges; ensure the amount received matches the specified charge or another transfer will be needed.
- The program fee already includes the I-901 fee. Do not double pay.

How Much?

Self-Placed (SP) - EVs find their own internship
- USD 1,770 = USD 1,550 for J-1 intern program sponsorship + USD 220 SEVIS Fee
- Due within 7 days of J-1 program acceptance before the DS-2019 is issued (3 days for amendment).

CCIP-Placed (CP) - EVs whose internship is within the CCIP Host Roster
- USD 3,320 = USD 1,550 for placement/program + USD 1,550 for J-1 intern program sponsorship + USD 220 SEVIS Fee
- First installment (USD 1,550) is due within 3 days of CCIP acceptance.
- Second installment (USD 1,550 + USD 220) is due within 7 days of J-1 program acceptance before the DS-2019 is issued.

Customized Placement - EVs whose internships are outside the CCIP Host roster
- May incur a surcharge of USD 500 which is due with the second installment.

Remarks
- Third installment (only for FUSIA-facilitated housing) is due 14+ days before the first winter/summer program start date.
- Health insurance, housing, airfare, living expenses, MRV fee, bank transaction fees, and site visit fees are not included.
- Any refunds go to the original remitter(s) via the original payment method(s), unless otherwise agreed in advance.
- Paid fees are non-transferable and non-negotiable.

Part 2 Program Fees (Application)

Below are the charges incurred when initially joining the program.

1 J-1 Intern Program Sponsorship (USD 1,550) This fee, charged by FUSIA, covers essential services and support to ensure the successful and compliant participation of exchange visitors in the J-1 visa program.

- Screen & verify EV via documented interviews per 22 CFR 62.22(d)(3) & Host per 22 CFR 62.22(g)(3).
- Collect & verify information & documentation from EV & host to ensure compliance per 22 CFR 62.22(f)(1).
- Maintain & safeguard participant & host records for compliance per 22 CFR 62.22(f)(4).
- Publish & distribute relevant info & resources, including pre-arrival info per 22 CFR 62.10(b).
- Issue, sign, & send Forms DS-2019 & DS-7002 to EV using Adobe cryptographic signatures, per 22 CFR 62.22(e).
- Track, file, & follow up on incident reports per 22 CFR 62.15.
- Provide EV with resources & guidance plus a 15-minute prep session for visa application & entry into the US.
- Create, monitor, & update EV’s SEVIS record with trained staff per 22 CFR 62.70.
- Handle administrative tasks, inquiries, & provide guidance & support as needed.
- Ensure compliance & prioritize participant well-being through vigilant oversight of program & participant activities.
- Guide EV in fulfilling J-1 visa obligations & engaging in program activities per 22 CFR 62.8.
- Provide remote after-hours emergency support & intervene in necessary conflict situations.
- Utilize Adobe cryptographic signatures for signing Forms DS-7002 & DS-2019.
- Conduct FUSIA’s English proficiency test, if selecting #15 in PDF #9, to satisfy CFR 22 Part 62.10(a)(2).
- Provide a certificate upon successful completion at FUSIA’s discretion.

2 Placement (CP USD 1,550 This fee is charged to EV with internship placements secured by FUSIA. Placements outside the Host roster may incur a surcharge of USD 500.

- Place EV with one host from the CCIP Roster or match EVP with a host aligned to indicated preferences.
- Access FUSIA’s exclusive resources, courses, and networking opportunities (subject to availability).
- Edit and circulate resumes to potential hosts, providing necessary training and guidance for host placement.
- Provide a personalized reference letter and special certificate upon successful completion, at FUSIA’s discretion.

3 SEVIS or I-901 (USD 220 per person). DHS requires this fee from EV to support SEVIS, an online system used by DHS to track and monitor F, M, and J visa holders and facilitate information sharing among associated government agencies. This fee is nonrefundable. Visit HERE and see for more.

4 Health Insurance (Varies, USD 40+ per month). EV and their dependents are required under 22 CFR Part 62.14 to obtain and maintain qualified health insurance throughout their stay in the US. If purchasing from TAIAN (click HERE), the estimated minimum is USD 40 per month. This fee is paid directly to the insurance provider from which EV purchases their health insurance.

5 Application Processing (USD 0) The application processing fee is waived if EV submits payment on time and no refund is needed. However, if EV submits payment late or requires a refund, a USD 200 application processing fee will apply.

6 Expedited Services (USD 0) If expedited processing is required, simply notify us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. No additional fee applies.

Part 3 Program Fees (Upon Occurrence)

Below are charges by FUSIA incurred upon occurrence.

1 Program Amendment (USD 50 to 300 per DS-2019/DS-7002 form x 2 forms) All information entered into SEVIS must be accurate, current, and complete. This fee applies if changes to EV’s SEVIS record require the reissuance of DS-2019 and/or DS-7002. This fee is determined by FUSIA at its sole discretion and depends on the significance of the changes.

- USD 100 (USD 50 x 2 forms): Minor changes, e.g., late arrival, phone number, supervisor contact.
- USD 200 (USD 100 x 2 forms): Moderate changes like program shortening, supervisor change, site relocation without a visit.
- USD 300 (USD 150 x 2 forms): Changing the site (same host) due to a significant business change, e.g., name or acquisition.
- USD 400 (USD 200 x 2 forms): Extending an existing program within the maximum program duration.
- USD 600 (USD 300 x 2 forms): Changing the site (new host) that requires an additional screening process.

2 Site Visit (USD 300 per site) Pursuant to 22 CFR 62.22(e), new host organizations (excluding government agencies and accredited institutions) with fewer than 25 employees or annual revenue below $3 million at the site location must undergo a site visit. The fee for each site visit is USD 300. However, organizations that have previously hosted a FUSIA-sponsored exchange visitor at the same site are exempt from the site visit requirement and fee. 3 Travel Validation (USD 0) No extra fee is charged to process travel addition requests.

4 J-2 Dependent (USD 550 initial charge; USD 100 for each additional dependent). Each dependent accompanying the applicant in this program is subject to a separate program administrative fee, which covers administrative costs associated with the dependent’s participation, including visa processing and support services.

5 Reinstatement/I-515A Processing Fees (USD 500) This fee applies to returning to legal Exchange Visitor status if EV’s J-1 status lapses or is violated.

6 Outgoing Transfer (USD 35 for each domestic transfer; USD 85 for each global transfer) This fee covers bank fees to initiate a refund via wire transfer. It is not applicable if processed via Zelle.

Part 5 Acknowledgment & Affirmation

This document outlines the itemized charges and program fee-related policies associated with (, EV, user, or participant) participation in the Exchange Visitor Program (EVP), administered by FUSIA Communications Inc. (FUSIA).

1 Program Charges Program charges will be initiated only after acceptance into CCIP, prior to DS-2019 issuance, or upon program amendment.

2 Refund Conditions & Percentage Outlined below are the refund conditions and their respective percentages. Further details are provided on the last page of .

#1 50% of the J-1 sponsorship fee, for all reasons, including visa denial, if requested 2+ weeks before program start date.
#2 100% of the housing fee if requested 1+ week before program start date.
#3 100% of the overpayment if requested within 14 days of the transaction being received.
#4 100% of the CCIP program/placement fee if FUSIA is unable to match the host placement per EV’s stated preferences 4+ weeks (or another mutually agreed deadline) before the anticipated program start date.

- No refunds for third-party charges (e.g., bank or SEVIS fees) except for housing as outlined above.
- No refund will be issued, except conditions #2 and #3 (if requested within the specified timeframe), once the visa is issued (or upon entry to the US for Canadians and Bermudians).

4 Refund Methods Refunds take up to 5 business days to process once approved, unless otherwise specified. If applicable, the previously waived USD 200 application fee will be deducted from the refund. Refunds will be sent to the original remitter via the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed in advance by both EV and FUSIA.

5 Disclaimer This program is at-will, permitting any party to withdraw at any time, for any reason, prior to or during the program. By enrolling, EV and any associated third parties acknowledge and agree to the refund policy outlined in this document and voluntarily waive any right to pursue legal claims or actions against FUSIA or its affiliates regarding any disputes, losses, or damages arising from participation in the program. Refunds will only be issued under the specific conditions outlined in this document. No refund will be provided for unmet personal expectations, medical issues, dissatisfaction, visa interview failures, administrative delays, voluntary or involuntary withdrawal, acts of God, program termination, shortening (regardless of fault), changes in visa status, failure to obtain a visa, denial of entry to the US, health-related issues, financial circumstances, or any other losses, unforeseen changes, expenses, damages, or claims related to the program.

This is an associated document of PDF #25 for (click ). After completion, it is permissible to upload either a signed copy or, if a scanner is unavailable, an unsigned file. If an individual signature is required, ADMIN will send the document via Adobe Sign for signing. Otherwise, the signature on obtained during program acceptance will suffice.

By submiting the program, confirms complete understanding and acceptance of all terms contained within, and acknowledges that FUSIA may amend the terms without prior notice, and that any amendments will require a new signature.

Part 6 Refund Policy & Application

Step 1 Select the applicable refund condition

☐ 50% of the J-1 Intern Program Sponsorship fee For all reasons, including visa denial, submit the request 2 or more weeks before the program start date or visa approval (or entry to the US for Canadian or Bermudian citizens). No refunds thereafter or once the visa is approved. The same rules apply to the J-2 dependent fee.

☐ 100% of the Housing fee Applicable to CP EVs residing in housing arranged by FUSIA. Submit the request 1+ weeks before the program start date. No refunds thereafter.

☐ 100% of the Overcharged Amount Applicable to EVs who overpay. Submit the request within 14 days of the transaction being received. No refunds thereafter.

☐ 100% of the Placement Fee Applicable (a) if FUSIA is unable to match the host placement per EV’s stated preferences 4 or more weeks (or another mutually agreed deadline) before the anticipated program start date and the DS-7002 has not yet been signed, OR (b) if Host withdraws before SEVIS check-in due to uncontrollable circumstances not attributable to the EV. No refund will be given for the J-1 internship program sponsorship fee, SEVIS fee, or compensation for any expenses incurred by EV (e.g., airfare, MRV fee, etc.).

Step 2 Calculate Refund Amount Refunds are based on the actual amount received, excluding any non-refundable fees. A USD 200 application fee will be deducted from any refund issued. An “Outgoing Transfer” Fee applies if the refund is processed via wire transfer. No refunds for bank transaction fees, SEVIS fees, out-of-pocket, or admin charges.

Step 4 Sign & submit Submit this page with required attachments to FUSIA by the deadline. Attach the Zelle QR code for Zelle transfers. For wire transfers, include the top of the bank statement showing the bank name, SWIFT code, address, account number, and account holder’s name, address, and phone number. If any details are missing, write them on the attachment. Allow 72 hours for processing. If approved, refunds will be issued within 3-5 business days. If not received within this timeframe, please follow up. Follow instructions and communicate with ADMIN carefully in advance.
