Part 1 Declarations
1 General Rules & Procedures EV must arrive in the US no later than the program start date indicated in their DS-2019. Failure to do so, even by a single day, is considered a program deviation, requiring immediate notification to FUSIA and the completion of necessary amendment procedures.
- Upon learning of a late arrival, immediately obtain approval from the Host, contact
ADMIN, and complete via .
- Following preliminary approval, we will issue the amendment code, after which you will complete the amendment procedures.
- Generally, we will amend your SEVIS record and associated forms before arrival.
- Print the necessary documents, including the original and updated
DS-2019 and
DS-7002, as well as the letter from us in , and carry them with you when crossing the border.
2 Potential Complications Our approval of your late arrival request does not guarantee admission to the US, as this is determined by
CBP. Considering the serious consequences and potential complications, EV should make every effort to arrive on time. If a delay is unavoidable, EV must accept all risks associated with late arrival.
-
CBP determines admissibility and, in rare cases, may deny entry at their sole discretion.
- Late arrival, whether voluntary or not, may lead to additional security screening and questioning by
CBP.
- Do not leave the US after initial entry until SEVIS check-in is complete, or your visa may be canceled.
- If required documents are absent, it may result in denial of entry and the issuance of
I-515A.
- We do not allow program deferment. If your delay is more than 10 days after your program start date, we reserve the right to cancel your program without a refund.
3 Associated Amendment Fee An additional program amendment fee will apply due to the late arrival. This fee accounts for the extra administrative time needed to adjust the program period, up to 7 days (or 10 days in exceptional circumstances).
- The fee is typically USD 50 per form or USD 100 for two forms as per .
- If your SEVIS record is canceled for not being validated on time and requires reinstatement, an additional admin fee will apply.
SEVIS check-in means verifying your US address and contact information, followed by changing your status from INITIAL to ACTIVE. We generally require SEVIS check-in to be completed within 7 days after arrival (or 10 days in exceptional circumstances). If more than 30 days pass, it will lead to automatic SEVIS record and program termination.
I-515A grants temporary entry to the US when documentation is missing or incomplete. Notify us immediately if you receive
I-515A.
