Overview
National Radio Astronomy Observatory, known as NRAO, is a premier research facility that designs, builds, and operates high-sensitivity radio telescopes for the international scientific community. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the observatory oversees key astronomical facilities including the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array in New Mexico and the North American share of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array in Chile. Through precision radio interferometry, NRAO enables researchers to study interstellar gas, star formation, and distant galaxies.
