Overview
W. M. Keck Observatory operates two 10-meter optical and infrared telescopes situated near the summit of Maunakea in Hawaii. Utilizing segmented primary mirror designs and laser guide star adaptive optics, the twin telescopes are among the most scientifically productive ground-based astronomical instruments in history. By observing exoplanetary systems, distant cosmological structures, and supermassive black holes, Keck Observatory drives discoveries that reshape astrophysics.
