As a fellow intern prepared to leave during his final week, J-1 exchange intern Sid suggested doing something special to wrap up their time together. He mentioned he would be learning to surf for the first time that weekend, and invited his fellow interns to join him and meet his friends from Stanford University. It was a great, albeit cold, day at the beach. Despite being his first time, Sid taught the group how to catch waves. They all had an eventful experience—surfing, chatting, spotting whales, and enjoying a hearty lunch.
