Overview
AC Transit operates local, rapid, Transbay, supplementary school, and overnight bus routes throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The network serves Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Emeryville, Hayward, Fremont, Richmond, and surrounding East Bay communities, with selected Transbay routes continuing to San Francisco. Riders can pay using Clipper, an accepted contactless payment method, or cash. Passengers should check the route destination because local and Transbay services have different schedules and fare requirements.
