Overview
Muni Bus operates an extensive network of local, rapid, express, and overnight routes throughout San Francisco. Buses connect residential neighborhoods with Downtown, schools, hospitals, shopping districts, BART stations, Caltrain, and major attractions. Riders can pay using Clipper, a contactless bank card, compatible mobile wallet, MuniMobile, or cash where accepted. Eligible regular Muni fares include transfers during the permitted transfer period, but cable cars require a separate fare unless covered by an eligible pass.
